Is it buried treasure or junk? Who cares! The love of the hunt and the adventure it brings is the real treasure. At least that is what I tell myself while searching through dusty dirty heaps of God Knows What. Be warned; All it takes is one find... one precious little jewel that other eyes have passed over…just one... and like a true addict, you will find yourself with pockets full of $1 bills, stalking strangers yard sales and cruising stinky thrift stores. Oh you can call it a quest, a hobby or a part time business if you like. But, before long, you will know Rummage Fever. Symptoms include; Treasures Mapping every Thursday night to prepare for Saturday’s plunder. Waking in the early morning hours to be the first marauder at the treasure site. Packing you car with old news paper and boxes. Carrying strange items like a magnifying glass and tiny ultra violet flashlights to ferret out the best booty. Closets, attics and garages filled with cherished prizes from the hunt. Don’t say I didn’t warn you when you find yourself looking up from a heaping pile of debris to stop a young pirate from pilfering your newly unearthed riches . There may be no shovels on your expedition, but there will be plenty of digging. Not so many high-speed chases, but lots of rushing from house to house in pursuit of the next cache. Your friends and family may not understand the fervor, but I will. So too will the fortune hunters you will find here on the Ginger Moon Treasure galleon. Welcome aboard mates (that’s mate-ies, for you landlubbers) P.S. Just in case you don’t think you are pirating. Answer me this: What do you call someone who comes to your house and takes your prized possessions for pennies and then sells them as priceless treasures on eBay, Etsy, Ruby Lane and the like?
